Hazel Lucille Eubanks

Hazel Lucille Eubanks, 97, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:50 A.M., Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Lucille was a homemaker.  She had worked at the Maid Rite in Du Quoin and also at Country Set as an inspector for twenty years.

She was born February 5, 1911 at Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Vern Allen and Sarah Elizabeth (Cheek) Stevenson.

She married George Russell Eubanks in June of 1934 at Anna-Jonesboro, IL and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1954.

She is survived by two sons - Benjamin N. Eubanks and wife Janet Sue of Du Quoin, Russell A. Eubanks and wife Sharon Kay of Pinckneyville, five grandchildren - David Eubanks, Amy Whalen, James R. Eubanks, Benjamin Neal Eubanks, and Susan Harris, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother - Gerald N. Stevenson.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rolland Sarver and Jeffrey Vogelzang officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
